Learning how to listen to your gut will save your life.

Your gut will NEVER fail you but you have to relearn how to trust it.

As women we were socially conditioned to ignore our gut and instincts.

As young girls if we wanted to go to the bathroom in class we had to raise our hands, ask for permission, and sometimes have shame placed on us “didn’t you just go?” or “wait 10 minutes”. If you really think about it, it’s RIDICULOUS for someone to have control over our bodies like that. And that conditioning only continues as we get older.

Maybe your parent tells you to hug your uncle and say thank you for a gift but your body is telling you it’s not feeling right. They persist and say “be a good girl”. So you ignore the feeling and comply.

It’s no wonder we live in a society where women are out of touch with their intuition. They tried to kill it!

It’s time to awaken it and relearn how to get in touch with our gut again. ❤️

HOW TO LISTEN TO YOUR GUT:

- When you’re making a decision or at a cross roads, FEEL into it. What is your physical body telling you? Is it feeling safe, scared, tight, loose?

- What does that feeling mean to you? What is telling you?

HINT: scared and excited can almost feel very similar. With more practice you can master discerning the difference which is vital when getting out your comfort zone.

- Journal or meditate on the subject (if you can create time)

- Ask yourself “What do I need right now?” and “WHY am I doing this”

⬆️⬆️⬆️ arguably two of the MOST important questions you can ask yourself when listening to your gut.

Lastly, be patient with yourself. Your gut has been socialized to conform for years and years. This work will not be done overnight but it CAN be done. 🦋

You’re wasting your time waiting for other people.

Solo travel is one of the best ways to build your confidence and self trust.

When you travel alone, you are on your damn own!

Flights, accommodations, transportation, food, excursions, etc. Anything and everything is on you. It’s an amazing way to learn who you are and what you like to do without the noise of others.

If you want to stay in bed all morning, you can. If you want to sleep early, go ahead. If you want to ball out on dinner, ball out! 🤪

We’ve been conditioned to fear independence and to be alone. But it is when we are alone we can create the capacity to became who we’re meant to be.

STOP waiting for the support and comfort of being with others to go out and see the world. You don’t need permission of your family and friends to do so. 🙅🏽‍♀️

NOTHING bad will happen when you speak up for yourself.

Have you ever gotten your nails done, didn’t like it, then not say anything and just hate them for weeks?

Or have you gotten a massage before and were too scared to tell the person they were going to hard?

Maybe you got your food or a drink and you didn’t like it but just consumed it anyways?

Sure these seem like small acts and might not sound like a big deal however, it IS a big deal.

If you can’t self advocate and speak up for yourselves in these small ways, how do you expect yourself to do this with your family, partner, friends, or work?

Exactly, you can’t.

You deserve what you want. It isn’t an inconvenience to anyone. And if they make you feel like that then that is a THEM problem.

Why do we not speak up for ourselves?

- Afraid how the person will react

- Want/need to be liked by everyone

- Don’t want to come off as “difficult” or inconvenience anyone

- Physically feeling uneasy/unsafe

How can you start to self advocate:

- Get clear on your specific “why” you’re afraid of speaking up

- Understand why you might be nonchalant

- Why/when did this start?

- Play the story out of an example — what would actually happen if you DID say something?

- Think of a low lift commitment for the next time you want to self advocate

Welcoming my 29th trip around the sun in this magical place.

For my bday last year I took a leap and decided to take my first solo trip ever. It changed my life. This year I decided to go on another and soon realized this is exactly how I want to celebrate myself every year. ❤️

People, places, and things will come and go. One thing for sure is I will always have my back and I will always love and trust myself. So what better way to celebrate than with myself. 🫶🏽

Things I’ve learned in the past year:

- energy is your most precious resource, spend it wisely with people and on experiences that make you feel alive

- the sun and nature is my best charger, discovering how my past lives affect this current one has truly changed the way I live

- allowing yourself to be free is the best gift you can give yourself

- your life begins when you get our your comfort zone 🌱

- life is meant to be LIVED, stop waiting for shit to happen to you. go out and MAKE it happen!

I used to wait on my boyfriend to get gas with me and now I travel by myself!

I’m on day 2 of my 8 day solo Costa Rica trip and I’ve already met so many people who solo travel. It’s becoming a norm in my reality. And I had to work to get to this reality.

I never waned to be single. I was the gf who was all up in your mix. You wanna go out with your friends? Bet, where we going? 🥴

I’ve come a long way. I understand the importance of alone time. I value time spent with myself. I support everyone in my life who wants to take a break and do things for themselves. And I most importantly encourage self discovery.

The world is a big place and the city you live in is just a literal spec on this earth. Don’t let your family, friends, or the media scare you away from seeing it.

This message is for the person reading this thinking “that could never be me”. You don’t HAVE to solo travel but I want you to know it is available to you if you’re interested.

Never did I think I would be doing this nonetheless enjoy it this much! What’s something you’re interested in doing but are just scared to do?

I used to workout to lose weight. Now I workout to get strong.

I started my fitness journey around 10 years ago after a big breakup. I wanted to lose fat and look good! But that was my main goal.

I worked out 5x a week, sometimes double days and even tried keto and all the random diet trends.

Then this year I decided I wanted to workout to be STRONG. I wanted to be able to do pull ups, pole dance, and do crazy tricks on lamp posts. 😅

Although I’m not there YET. Those goals are what keep me focused and in the game. It keeps it fun and less focused on looks and “being skinny”. Of course I want to look good however, that’s only a byproduct now.

Moving my body is for me! It makes me feel good, reduces my stress, keeps me grounded, and I feel pretty bad ass when I hit PRs and do cool tricks on the pole.

Funny thing is my weight has BARELY changed over the last few months but I’ve never looked and felt better in my whole life!!
